COLD WITH SNOW ON THE GROUND

However, I think we're done with snowy weather for several days at least.  The sun is out today and I hope everyone has a great New Year.

She's a cute little dog and is a little skittish around men.  I always take photos of the dogs in Wrightwood and have got quite a collection going. 

Here's a few pics from a recent walk.

Our snow is melting but another storm is coming in around Christmas Eve.

This next one is at the country club - no more lake - just snow.  They drain the lake every winter and when snow comes, if there is enough, they open it up to people to come in with their sleds.  It wasn't deep enough yet for sled riding.

I like this cabin - and it's little storage shed.  I noticed the other day on a walk it's for rent. 

I like cabin in the background - that pop of red.

We will head out for a walk soon and hopefully it won't be too cold - should get up to high 30's while we're out.

I've followed the Voice all along - (first time watching it all the way to the end) but I tuned in a little late and had missed this performance at the beginning of the show the other night.  I finally remembered to go find it on the net.  I love it and wanted to post it here.

Hope all is going well with you and those around you.  I cherish these kids even more after the tragedy in Connecticut - makes you stop and realize how wonderful little ones are and how much they mean to us.  Their smiles light the world.  Prayers for all those families who are suffering everywhere. 

SNOW TODAY - SNOW TOMORROW, SNOW THE NEXT DAY

and found out it will snow "into" next week.  We only got a few inches but more to come tonight and tomorrow and onward.

There's going to be a lot of snow photos posted on here.  I'll start with my house.  It looks nice with snow because you can't see that it really isn't landscaped at all and pretty much dirt, ha.

SNOW WHITE'S HOUSE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

I don't think I've ever shared the Snow White House photos here or elsewhere.  I was combing through my photos and these were taken the last time my sister visited.  We were walking along the streets up here in the neighborhood when my brother in law pointed out the house.  It was set far back and behind trees so I had never really seen it before.

COMING HOME FROM BEING OFF MOUNTAIN YESTERDAY

We were visiting  down the mountain yesterday and when we came home this is what it looked like.  Those rocks in the distance are called Mormon rocks and are part of the San Andreas Fault line.  We get off at an exit right near there and then travel up the mountain.  There was no snow but the fog and clouds were beautiful.  This was about 4:30 in the evening.

LEFT THE MOUNTAIN TOP FOR ANOTHER MOUNTAIN TOP

Yesterday we were out all day. We left Wrightwood and went to Riverside, CA to visit the "duck" park and climb up to the top of Mt.Rubidous. It was a warm beautiful day and even was getting hot while we were walking up to the top. We visited the park twice, first before we went walking up Mt. Rubidoux we stopped by and I photographed a mama duck and her babies. After our Mountain top trip - we stopped back at the park and I was so surprised to see sailboats in the water - this is something I've never seen in all the years we have visited there. It looks like there is a sailboat club that is using the lake. It was a great day and after walking/hiking around here- walking up to the top of Mt. Rubidoux was a piece of cake. I'll share pics interspersed with more Bend photos - some day I'll get the ones I want posted all done.
