FRONT PORCH POST (not my photos)

I developed a hobby so to speak years ago after selling my house.  I started looking online for rentals (since we decided we didn't want the hassle of ownership anymore)....  Through the years it became a hobby more or less.  Every day I spend some time looking online at rentals in areas I would like to live.

I found this older house the other day and loved the outside.  It actually is three separate apartments and the one that is for rent is so cute and this 1 bedroom rents for 1250.00 a month.  It is in the town of Riverside which has the famous Mission Inn which is beautiful.

The rents just keep going up and up in Southern California - it amazes me how much a 3 bedroom in any decent area not even desirable area rents for now.  I saved off some pics because I love old houses but I thought whoever decorated this little (under 800 sq feet I believe) apartment used such pretty colors.

That poor palm tree needs someone to take off the dead fronds.

I like  the retro look of the bathroom and kitchen.  It didn't specify whether the place for rent was upstairs or downstairs.

I can't imagine living with two other families sharing a house.

This neighborhood is in one of the historical districts .  We drove through a few nice areas the other day when we were in Riverside.

A HOUSE IN RIVERSIDE

Yesterday we were in Riverside and I love driving or walking depending on the weather, through the neighborhoods.  It was hot - about 95 or so -...so we took care of business and then drove near the park we use to take the grandkids to.

I have photos in the past of this house and yesterday it looked exactly the same as it did 5 or years ago - maybe the bushes are higher now.

The neighborhoods around the park are beautiful and then there is the park where a lot of drug buying and selling use to go on.

FIRST HOUSE  is the one taken back in 2010 or so.

Heading into a heat wave next week and then monsoonal weather which means humidity.

These were taken 07/16/16/

A BEAUTY OF A HOUSE - RIVERSIDE CA, AND HUMMERS ON MY MIND

I've been watching the hummingbirds at the feeders lately and remembered how much I enjoyed going to Keller Peak Fire Watch Lookout Station and seeing the hummingbirds from up high.  I think when fall comes and before they close the gates that allows people to drive up the roads to this area (they close them in winter due to snow and bad road conditions).... I will make another trip there.

There is some good hiking trails and the best part is a trip to the lookout point.  I know I've posted these before but not sure if I have posted them on this blog.

LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER WALK AROUND RUBIDOUX IN RIVERSIDE - FRONT PORCH POST

This is a walk I will take a few times in the fall and winter when I need a break from the mountains.  Right now though, they will be approaching 100 plus in the next few days and into next week.

I took these photos on a walk on February 6, 2009 - and just starting editing the folder.

Riverside is an area we use to walk in quite a bit  and also would hike up Rubidoux mountain where when you reached the top there would be a cross.

And on another note.  Ever since Father's Day when I was looking at photos of my dad I have been missing his cartoons.  After my mom died my father  and I and sometimes my sister Laura - would send cartoons to each other.   My dad was a pretty talented artist and I think of all his paintings and drawings he did - the most enjoyment I would get out of them were his cartoons.  A lot of times he would draw on the outside of an envelope he was sending to me with a letter inside.  I've mentioned this in the past on either this blog or other blogs I have since taken off line and in fact have probably posted this cartoon before.  But I'm feeling sentimental about him today so thought I would post this again.

He was making fun of my loving to read back in the day - I would read even while cooking if I was into a good novel - standing at the stove - book in one hand and watching and stirring whatever needed to be at the time.   He lived with us for awhile and definitely witnessed my obsession with books...and he always made me look so attractive in his cartoons, lol.  Not sure what son this one is portraying as all my sons are 6' and over.  This one looks pretty short.

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE IN RIVERSIDE, CA- FRONT PORCH AND BABY KITTIES

Same house in two seasons.  We use to go over to this area to hike Mt. Rubidoux - a good hike or rather walk  with a cross at the top of  a plateau..    I hope to post photos of it possibly in the next post.

Also putting a couple of photos up of some feral kitties that the mom (who we had put food out for several months and she has already had 2 litters in this time) felt it was safe enough to bring them to our back deck.  The mom is extremely skittish and if we get too close she runs - We really want to catch her and get her fixed and then put her back out to be wild.  If we can't get to her she is going to keep having litters.   Eventually we will at least try to get the two kittens in and get them fixed.  I don't plan on possessing them and bringing them inside - they can roam as they want but I will put food out for them.

DAILY FRONT PORCH, NEAR FAIRMONT PARK RIVERSIDE, CA AND A FUNNY VIDEO - worth watching for a laugh at the end

I was walking near this area last February and one of the pics I got was this front porch.  This house is not far from the ever beautiful and famous Mission Inn - ...

This video is funny but the best part is the end.
