HI Annie - we are about 1 hour away. We almost went to Crestline today which isn't that far from the standoff and we might have had to deal with the stopped traffic. Instead we went a different direction (back way to Hesperia) and we noticed and pulled over because three cop cars had their lights and sounds on and I think they could have been going up to the area for back up. So glad we didn't go that direction - ...it was almost a fork in the road literally when we decided to go Hesperia vs. Crestline which would have taken us closer to what was going on.
