I'm a bird watcher. I love to wait for the perfect lighting or scene and then photograph what they are doing.
Finally, finally for the first time ever, I caught an immature robin taking a bath in a pot I set up with an insert for water (the insert is really one of those plastic dish thing that you set the pot on to catch water but I use it for a dish inside the pot). I've only ever seen a stellar jay take a bath here in the yard but I didn't have my camera.
Patience definitely pays off. I sat outside yesterday with my camera, a good book and my Galaxy Tab - telling myself I wasn't going to leave until a bird took a bath in front of me. I was out there over an hour when the robin flew up and after a few minutes got in the water.
I love the look on his face - he doesn't seem too happy to have his private moment in the bath photographed.
He's getting a little more rambunctious in this photo.
He is so darn cute!
Oh...he's feeling it now!
I have more but this is enough - when he got out and sat on the edge he was all fluffed up and adorable.
I'm opening up the "pool" in a few minutes - maybe more will visit:)
My morning routine is always to sit outside waiting - the wait was worth it yesterday.
