A PRETTY BLUE CABIN

Hello ----  We're warming up to the 50's during the day.  I'm excited.  I do see that by next Thursday snow will be coming in again.  We haven't even thawed out yet from the last snow.  I had frozen pipes in the bathroom downstairs (which are now flowing free and working), a broken toilet downstairs which Mike fixed and we didn't need to call the landlord for a plumber, a washer and dryer in the garage whose pipes froze and then the day before yesterday Mike heard a big thump and water spraying everywhere.  The connection on the faucet of the hot water going into the washer busted and water was spraying everywhere.  He quickly turned the water off to the house and the next morning went to the hardware store by 8:30 and had it fixed in time for my shower.  He's quite a repairman these days.  We found out that the number of busted pipes in our town was amazing - temps had gone down to around 5 at one point.

Our oldest son and his family are coming in today to spend the night, and will be leaving tomorrow for Disneyland.  His wife is running in a lymphoma marathon.  She is 10 years cancer free.  Much to be grateful for there.

I'm just leaving a foot print here with a pretty blue cabin that caught my eye on a walk.  Hope all is well.

Holy cow, that's a lot of frozen stuff going on! I'm glad all is fixed before they come in today. It's always nice to be able to fix things without too much expense and without having to contact the landlord who then has to contact a plumber.

The card you made is beautiful! I received it yesterday. It is so soft looking ... the original ... and it was great to get it!

We walked on the beach at Old port today...temp 74 and tide low. It's difficult to imagine the kind of freezing that goes on other places. But I do get tired of sweating after every walk like it is summer. I mean, 73 is our summer temperature!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about all the frozen pipes. We dealt with that in a house we owned several years ago, and I know it's no fun.

10 years cancer free is a wonderful reason to celebrate.

I like the blue cabin--very pretty.

The contrast in colors are really pretty on the cabin. It must be nice to call the landlord. I so want to... not be a home owner.... anymore. I haven't been able to push my husband in that direction just yet. I have been looking on the internet a lot though trying to find just the right thing.
You asked if we have had any more little earthquakes. We must have because, there are cracks on the wall and some part of the ceiling fell off, even though we had all of that worked on recently. They blew up a bridge nearby a few weeks ago (for repair work) and I thought a house next door exploded. That could be where the cracks etc. came from.
So with some cold weather where you are now...I am guessing you have had to buy some winter clothes?

I just took a scan of your other posts and can't figure out why I don't get updates when you post anymore. oh well....just have to make it a habit to check every so often. I like seeing what you have been up to.

What rotten luck with all the frozen pipes but glad to hear the issue finally resolved albeit with a thump and a bit of a flood! ;)

That sure is a pretty blue cabin. I'd love to live somewhere like that.

hi all, thanks! Brenda - that could be why Waterpool is looking in the sink so much - the earthquake thing -....

Weather has been warmer and today we went down the mountain and walked in 80 degree weather - or so it felt - even felt more like 90 but it was probably only 70. I now know I like cold temps better than hot.
