Yesterday we walked to town to see what Mountaineer Days were all about.
Three days of booths, crafts, food, stagecoach rides, carnival rides...I feel like I saw everything i wanted to in an hour. Then we walked back and i saw this pretty scene on the road we took to go back to the house.
I'm getting settled in nicely and I'm loving it here.
My busy days will be winding down soon as my unpacking and organizing will be coming to an end...except for the boxes of stuff that will stay in the garage.
I have no idea what the fourth of July is like up here - but I know it shouldn't include fireworks.

Pretty! And this is just a short walk away from your house. How enjoyable it must be to live remotely and yet have this enchanting place at your fingertips (or toetips???)
That makes me wish I had been there with you on your walk to town and back! What a gorgeous scene!! Let us know what the 4th is like up there. You know how it gets here with the fireworks at the pier. We walked the boardwalk in Grover/Pismo today and the campgrounds are filled up. But it didn't feel very busy in town or along the boardwalk.
Interesting....one can buy fireworks here, but, it is against the law to use them...

thanks Annie - once I get acclimated to the altitude it will be more fun to go out walking. The air is definitely thinner up here.

hi TC - ...I agree about the forefathers. i always wonder why cities ban fireworks but yet allow them to be sold...ahh silly me...maybe it has to do with tax money.
So yesterday in Grover Beach there was a stand selling fireworks...get this...sponsored by the local police!! It's illegal in most areas around here to have fireworks. I thought that was SO ODD
