First off - going to add a link to this Pan Cilantro Lime Chicken and asparagus dish which sounds great - so my husband and sister can see this (they are the good cooks in the family and enjoy it - i am okay at cooking but don't enjoy it but I love looking at recipes and photos of food). Here is her Recipe

A walk through town - San Luis Obispo- and then a Moose Drool beer ( very dark beer with lots of substance none of that Bud Light beer for me) at McClintock's in town...
One of my favorite things to do.
I love the way the garage is painted - it looks like one building but two different colors to match their houses.
I've been looking at these photos I took a year or so ago when I visited the Botanical Garden and something was nagging at me. I left it alone and then it came to me last time I saw them again. They look like something Van Gogh would have painted with his workers in the fields series. He did several paintings of workers and these two just reminded me them. I was higher up on a pathway, coming down to this area when I took the photos. Makes me want to go back and spend some time seeing people walking through these gardens. This is just a small portion of an area where they have rather big metal structures of bugs and butterflies, etc.
I figure in a few more weeks it will be a good time to go back there and see what's in bloom.

You are going to paint one of those Van Gogh like scenes, right? I know you would do a beautiful job!
Love that street where you took the photos of the houses...one of my favorite streets (one of many).
Ah, yes, that delicious beer and a wonderful little break in our walking and photographing! I so enjoyed it when you were here and we usually made time for a respite with some beer and conversation.
Forgot to say I checked out the recipe and I will be trying it! Sounds yummy.
Last night mike marinatedchicken in soy and garlic and cut in cubes - then pan fried or grilled not sure...but then he made jasmine rice and he has perfected his lemon garlic parmesan sauce so we put the chicken over jasmine rice and the sauce and it was "outstanding". He could have served it in a fine Asian restaurant.
yes - one of these days - when enough time goes for another trip i can't wait to do it again.
yes i plan on a van goghish messy sketch of this scene.
Mike needs to leave me his garlic parmesan lemon sauce recipe at "our" blog.
yes i'll have him do that if he actually has measurements for it - he's made it often but it is now "perfect" in my opinion
I haven't been to SLO in years and years. I would so love to go back and stay a while,
Hi Annie - I love SLO - good food, interesting walking through town and then of course all the areas and vineyards in the area. Hope u can get there some day.
I love the pretty colors on those houses. Those gardens are gorgeous! How I would love to visit them. I can see why they remind you of Van Gogh's work.
Hi Connie - i think about 10 years ago they added in the pretty path through the wildflowers - ...i think the botanical gardens is probably an ongoing project that will p robably not be complete for years. It's in my favorite town of Claremont.
