In a recent magazine article I read at FB - Lake Arrowhead ranked 3rd in cute cozy towns with lots to offer in fun and things to do - this was for California not the US. I have to agree it would definitely be in the top ten- ..offering water/boating activities and several hiking trails.
I went out the other day as the weather has been beautiful although yesterday it started raining and is still raining off and on this morning and quite foggy. While out and about I took some photos of cute cabins or houses I saw along the way. Sometimes when we are in the area we enjoy getting a milk shake from the Cedar Glen Malt Shop which has been in this area since the 40's.
Second house down is my favorite out of all of these.
Cedar Glen malt shop has been here since the 1940's.

Such pretty houses. I really love that blue one, and the malt shop looks like a fun place to stop and take a break.
I like the white one with the two big trees in front of it. Looks cozy. Seeing that counter makes me want a milkshake and fries! Cool place to stop for a refreshment!
OH GOOD GRIEF!
and then to top it off with a malt shop!
and stools at the counter!
I think laura and I know each other.
NOW I WANT ICE CREAM DARN IT.
that blue one makes me totally happy.
I guess I wouldn't get tired of the blue.
I don't think so.
they're all adorable really!
Crumbs a blue house, wonderful! Have to say I've never heard of a malt shop. It looks great, very retro!
Thanks for choosing - Three for the blue house, one for the white house and myself for the brownish looking house. The malt shop is always crowded. They say their hamburgers are the best around - I've only had their fries and milk shakes. It's very retro. The malt shop actually survived the 2003 "Old" fire that burned so much of Cedar Glen to the ground and it has been rebuilt quite a bit - this happened mostly in the "Upper" Cedar Glen area, not the lower where most of the photos I posted were taken. Laura and Tammy - now I want some ice cream - i think a ride over there again tomorrow will be nice and I'll get enough ice cream to eat for the three of us, deal?!
Love the blue one. And the malt shop is a great idea for the coffee shop I'm wanting to put up.
Well, it's about time Tammy realized we know each other!! lol. Sandy, do get fries to go with out milkshakes...might as well go all the way!
I'm late voting but I would take that small white house!
All of them have such very steep roofs, is that because there is a lot of snow there?
I love malt shops, but I don't think we call them malt shops in the South! I sure would love one of their burgers and a chocolate milkshake!
