This is a really nice area of houses but I don't think I'd like living this close to my neighbor.
These are in the area right beyond this first house and built in a circle where in the middle is grass. They are very pretty but very close. I can't imagine sitting out on my front porch and being so close to someone I may not want to have to talk too. When I do sit outside I tend to do so for the nature around me not the people. That sounds so bad, lol. This area is near the train tracks - in San Luis Obispo. It was a beautiful walk the day we went there.
The way I love to photographs birds - people would probably think I was aiming my camera at them on their porches. I just would not fit in here at all.

Even though I like the idea of the circle of houses, you have a point about privacy...and I had thought of that also as I walked around there. But it sure is nice to visit. I like the one that was at the very end the best because they only had a neighbor to the side of them, not in front. I'm glad you posted them, though, because I had forgotten that we walked there.
The houses are pretty, tho as you pointed out, rather close.
Beautiful photos!
Those houses are too close for my comfort zone! Ugh. I do love your train photo!
That would be too close for comfort for me, for I like my space.
One day I went outside to sit by my wife's garden to soak up the sun, feel the nice warm breeze while listening to the wind as it moved among the branches of the trees, and listened to the birds as they sang their song.
It was very peaceful until some neighbors across the street started blasting their music out of their parked car.
Lon - Luckily we haven't lived where it is as noisy as it could be - Only for a year in the last thirty have we lived in a typical neighborhood- on a corner. Our backyard had a high wall and just over the wall our neighbors would have company on a Friday or Saturday night. It was a s hock to me to realize what other people have to deal with in a neighborhood with close houses. But I have lived near extremely annoying loud barking dogs that go on for hours and hours,, ugh.
thanks everyone.
Those houses are really pretty, but I think I'd feel the same way about how close they are to each other. I value my privacy too. Great photos!
I lived in a zero property line house, on a cul de sac, for many years. There were times when that was just too close. Pretty as these houses are, they are way too close for me. That being said, there is something about the creation of the sense of community that I like and actually harkens back to earlier times. I suppose these would be a good fit for just the right families. Anyone buying into such a place would have to have a congenial and engaging temperament. As congenial and as engaging as I AM (ahem!!), it, however, just wouldn't work.
beautiful! but agreed.
way too close!
Cute little house, but close together. I can't talk ~ in our retirement Villa. We are 71 units in all, 30 Senior and 4 apts in a cluster ~ 2 upstairs (us) and 2 ground level. But we love it here and thankful for a nice home in our retirement.]
Years ago, we lived right next to a train track. After a while, we got so used to it, we didn't even hear it.
I don't think I could live that close to others, but I am a hermit, living on our 16 acres! As is hubby!
Yes, they houses are really beautiful and the place looks nice! But I agree with you, "I don't think I'd like living this close to my neighbor." Lol!
