I tried to capture a clearer photo but just couldn't get it with my little camera. He is loud when his food isn't put out according to his schedule.....Well he and about four other acorn woodpeckers that visit here.
The nuns are MIA. I feel a disturbance in the force when I don't see them sitting on their porch or walking through the neighborhoods. I have this quirk that I seem to want to know where in the heck they are off to. There is a slight pulling on my consciousness by their absence because then my imagination takes over.
I do remember that last Wed or Thurs - I saw two of them sitting at the computers in the library - and when I walked by one of them had a google map pulled up. At the time I didn't think anything of it - but now I wish I had snuck up behind them to see what route they were searching for.
Not one but all of them are gone - their house is closed up tight, no cars in the front yard and I'm thinking they took off and went to Vegas. It's been four days and no sign of them. They didn't even come back for church on Sunday.
It did dawn on me that they might be at a retreat. Yes, that's got to be it. Of course I'm joking about Vegas but it is just about a quick 3 hour drive from here and one certainly wouldn't need a google map to find directions from here. It's a straight shot up the 15.
All kidding aside - it just feels good to me to see them walking around town. I hope they return soon.

I've never heard of an acorn woodpecker, but it's a pretty bird. Your imagination about the nuns made me laugh. :D My first guess is that they went to a church conference or retreat of some kind. haha!
I see your woodpecker friends have got you well trained then. :-)
Maybe, the nuns have ascended. This is 2012! :-)
Disturbance in the force. I think I would feel the same way too if I did not see my nuns at least once a week. In fact, the two that I am so used to seeing on Tuesdays did not appear today. But another, I had not seen before appeared. A door temporarily closed and another one opened.
well, girls just wanna have fun...even nuns probably...so your first guess is probably right...they're in Vegas!! ;)
