Saturday we walked in Cedar Glen, a little community within Lake Arrowhead area. This house really stood out to me - not only because of the color and rustic nature but their manzanita shrubs on the side of the house near the street. It looks like a second home and possibly empty quite a bit.
The branches are manzanita which I love for their rich colored branches and when they bleach out in the sun. I think the leaves are oak leaves nearby them.
More kitten photos. They've about torn up the cushion they are always playing on.

The gray kitten reminds me of Strider when he was a kitten. I love to watch kittens play/fight and hop around.
That cabin is very different looking...not sure I like it. I would have to see what the inside floor plan is like. The plants are nice around it though.
The coloring on the bark of that tree is really interesting. The kittens are cute and look like they are having fun playing.
Oh, those kittens are so DANG CUTE! I love the house and porch. What an interesting cabin! I'll have to do more exploring next time we are up in Idyllwild.

well Tessa, not quite sure about winter and the kittens. We will try and figure something out to make their house safe and dry from the snow. We're kicking around a few ideas - but bringing them indoors isn't going to happen ...yet... we can't get that close to them to catch them. The little gray one is the most brave and I probably could get her - but the mother is never far away and she always keeps an eye on us to see what we are going to do.
Not enough windows in that cabin for me. But I was struck by the color and old rustic look. I love manzanita.
they are fun to watch but i waste a lot of time when I could be doing something else, like .... watching birds possibly, lol
I hope to get to Idyllwild at least in 2016 if not before. Doubt it will be before though. I had some nice photos from our last trip there back in 2011 ...and my computer crashed and i hadn't backed up pics. won't every do that again.
I love the shape of the siding shingles on this unusual house! And those branches are so sculptural.
I love the green on the house, the trees and the kittens!!! Awesome! Your header is a delight. :)
