CENTRAL COAST CALIFORNIA - FRONT PORCH, MORRO BAY NURSERY ART GARDEN AND SAN SIMEON HORSES

On a beautiful foggy morning in the mountains I decided to revisit some photos from some of my favorite places.  We might get a little rain today and all nature is loving it up here.

1.  A few houses down from my sister's place is this house and I love the entry.

I love to visit Morro Bay and take a tour of their garden nursery art gallery.

We visited San Simeon during a trip over the last few years and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and I enjoyed seeing this horse.   San Simeon is where Hearst Castle is (in case anyone not know that).

Feral momma cat has been acting different - ever since the huge storm we have - thunder, lightning heavy downpours I haven't seen her kittens.  She comes now to the back door quite often and meows for her food.  I feed her and she sleeps a lot in the chair that I can see from the window.  She's still skittish but not nearly so as she was.  I've seen a different look on her lately.  Maybe it's me - but I see loss and a little depression.  I talk to her often through the door and ask her where her babies are.  I don't understand why they have disappeared - it seems that something must have happened to them.

I'm hoping they show up today, I'd rather see her annoyed face than what looks to me like a sad face.

ADDENDUM:  And after writing all of that above about how Mama misses her kittens and looks depressed - oh well - I think I was projecting my feelings on to her. (After all sometimes I miss my boys who I think are more like big lumbering dogs).   She brought her babies back to eat today.  So thank God they survived.  I was worried about them.  They are even a little bigger than last time and more playful.  They have been playing around on the deck this morning.  All of them had big appetites and mama came up to the door two times after the first round of food, looking in the screen and asking for more.   She now waits while I open the door and only steps away about five feet now and as soon as I walk back in, she is eating the food.

I love u mama kitty - but  you could smile once in awhile.

Oh, I was feeling so sad to think something happened to the kittens and that Mama was depressed...and she does look pretty down, doesn't she! But she's also got a very pretty face and I would like to see her smile too. I remember when you took those photos...it was when we went to that little cafe in San Simeon near the ocean. It was so beautiful that day!

All three are today, using the little house we created for them - supplied with a pillow, sheet, so they can lay on soft cozy stuff inside a good size box with a door. It's also not far from their food. Now my feeling is - I was always watching the kittens and maybe she needed to become more comfortable being around me to bring her kittens back here. Who knows cats do what they want - they could disappear tomorrow.

Mama cat is so pretty. All of our cats have come to us, up the drive, starving. They make the sweetest cats after they get used to trusting us.

I love the house picture near your sister's. We never manage to get such luxurious growth over an arbor.

Aren't horses wonderful! I could stand at a fence and watch the beautiful creatures for hours.

Poor Mama... She has a hard life.

Naturally, have only seen the Hearst Castle, on tv. Is it amazing, to really see it? Can you imagine the glittering Hollywood people, who used to visit there? :-) Not the "Rosebud" version, though!!! Ugh...

Hugs and magic,
Tessa

It is something for sure Tessa - first the estate is many many acres - even has zebras on the grounds - then you park way down below far from the castle and take a tram up to it - then they have several different tours you can take. It something to see at least once in your life if you are anywhere near the area.

I love being able to help this stray cat - and her kittens. She had been looking pretty bony after this last litter and they were nursing - she has definitely fattened up some is gets many small meals a day. She now lets us know when she is hungry. The photo is in San Luis Obispo- and though it isn't right near the coast I always noticed how nice everything looks there. They do get that fog and coastal moisture at times. I love horses also!! I have taken many photos of horses when we use to walk near where i lived before and there were many trails for people to take their horses on.

I'm glad to hear the kittens are OK. That's a beautiful mama cat. I would like going through that gardening gallery too, It would be a neat place to get ideas for your own yard.
