yesterday, I took a lot of photos - Running Springs didn't have that much snow, but farther up in Big Bear it was so beautiful. Leaving soon for a walk so I'm only posting one.
I'm pretty excited because after my grandson Jake called (he's almost 5) and told us he was graduating from "speech therapy" class and then he asked us if we could come up. It's hard to say no to him and besides it's been a little over a year since we were there , last being there January 2014, we decided to go if the price for tickets was within our budget.
Mike found only two seats left on each the two flights it takes to get there, and they were discounted to a fairly inexpensive price - so next week we will be in Bend, Oregon.
This cabin is in Running Springs taken from the car while on the highway to Big Bear.
It was a beautiful perfect day and no crowds on the highway going up because it was during the week.

What a beautiful scene. So glad you found tickets for a reasonable price and get to be there for your grandson. That's really special.
We're driving to Brookings OR for Easter to see Jill and her husband and our newest grandson, Tristan. He'll be two in June.
Great, you get to go to Bend! For how long?
That's a pretty cabin. So many of the house you take photos of have those big rocks as landscaping. I don't see that much around here.
Have fun on your trip! Sounds like it was meant to be.
yes we both feel it was meant to be - we had been talking it over for quite awhile and then thought because they will be down in June we would wait and maybe go in the fall. But...I miss them so much - and when Mike found those two vacant seats not only on the first plane but then the second one...well we had to do it. We keep ourselves on a strict budget - but this will work.
Wanda - a road trip to Oregon - how fun for you. We have driven it twice - or actually were able to ride with our son when he drove up there twice and then we would fly home. It's a long drive for us - about 14 hours. Much better to fly. I know you'll have a great time with your family.
Laura...wed to Monday starting next week.
We will be there in time to take Jake out for his "graduation" - they will put it off until Wednesday. (it's not really a graduation - he simply get a little certificate and badge - the reaosn we're going is because he asked us, lol. And u know how hard it is to resist Jakey. His therapy worked - i could understand him on the phone and he even pronounced graduation really good.
Wow it's beautiful Sandy, not much snow, well for us, for you, different matter. Still, beautiful ;_
the best thing about this photo????? that you could return home, to no snow, after taking it!!!! -chuckle-
have a lovely time, with family...
gentle hugs, Tessa~

we had such a mild winter - this was higher than we are - and then even higher they did get quite a bit more. ..of yes I'll have a great time, thanks.
